Valley checkerbloom

Sidalcea hartwegii

Also called Hartweg's Checkerbloom

Valley checkerbloom is a small annual wildflower native to California's Sacramento Valley and nearby foothills, grown mainly for its purplish pink flowers in late spring. It is seldom cultivated as a garden or houseplant, so care is best copied from related Sidalcea species grown in full sun with good drainage.
