Globe flatsedge is a small annual sedge native to the eastern United States and southern Mexico, growing in sunny, moist to wet places such as stream banks, ditches and field edges. It is a weed of wet ground rather than a common garden plant, so it is mainly grown for interest or wetland restoration.
